Arriving this week!

Contrary to popular belief, it’s not going to be 177 degrees, for the rest of the year!  “Yeah, sure!”, you say.  Trust me!

There will come a day, when you’ll put on your boots, poncho and your lovely necklace, from your favorite shop…

And you’ll say to yourself, “Hey, gorgeous, this outfit needs an equally gorgeous scarf!”  

I promise, it’s going to happen.  I’m psychic, like that!

That’s why, I’m bringing in an extra-beautiful line of hand-blocked  scarves, designed by Ella, a Bay Area woman and lovingly made by artisans, in India.

Hand stamping fabric is an art form that has been around for hundreds and hundreds of years.  The colors and patterns I’ve chosen are beautiful and should be a perfect compliment to the clothing line, arriving next month!

When ever I can, I try to support crafts people, who support themselves and their families, through their art.  Man over machine…or something like that.

I can’t wait, to unpack these lovelies, later this week!

Yes, even the stamps themselves, are hand-carved!  Just wonderful!

Meet Jill, our French tour guide!

Speaking of wonderful, we’re getting RSVP’s for our Q & A get-together, Tuesday, September 12th, 6 pm, at the shop. Jill, our fabulous French tour guide, will be there, to answer your questions. If you’re interested in join her Vintage French Tour, next spring, try to join us!

I will also share my packing tips, at this gathering.  You might discover that you could run out of shopping money, before you run out of space! I’ve done this before and brought back a ton of stuff!  I call it my “body bag”, because you could practically fit a human being in this thing! Now that’s what I call economy travel!

So here’s your duffle bag, with wheels.  This thing will hold about 50 pounds of new found French treasures. That’s the max per bag, with most airlines. (You can find a hand held luggage scale at Marshall’s or on-line for about $5., just to be safe.). 

On the way to France, you’ll pack your carry-on size luggage inside the “body bag”. On the way home, you’ll check two bags.  Voila!  Much less expensive than hassling with the post office!

Take a peek, next time you’re in!  Electrical work, texturing and painting is mostly finished.  Now we’re waiting on lights to arrive and flooring.  Should be here, ready to install next week.
