I’m at the airport right now, waiting to head down to Las Vegas, for a whirl-wind shopping day, at Market.
Getting up at 5:30 is usually a foreign experience for me, but Im up for the challenge.
While I really strive to stock the shop with truly vintage treasures, I love to buy jewelry, cookbooks, and little happies, as friend Jodie calls them, that you can give to a friend, without breaking the bank!
I”ll return tonight, in time to drop into bed! I’m going the speed route, because 1. I want to keep overhead down and 2. I’ll return Saturday night for a two day Miss Mustard Seed Retailer Training course. (I’m going to be so smart!)
I told you about Java Gel Stain, from General Finishes, for cabinet restoration. Well look what it can do on furniture!
This is just one coat of gel stain, applied with a foam brush. I’ll go over it with a clear coat of poly, but what a simple process!
I’m going to apply the same stain to this chair, once it gets stripped of upholstery. Bob started the process, to secure the joints. Just wait til it’s finished!
I did a little scavenging over the weekend and found some vintage treasures!
Saving the best for last, this needlepoint stool was made with old wooden spools on the base!
I got my hands on a few lamp kits, to convert old bottles, into wonderful lamps.
I’m half way through the show. If numbers of people tell me anything, I’d say the economy must be improving.
Despite efforts by congress!
I’m going a little crazy…but don’t tell my accountant…(Mr. Wonderful!)
I’ve found a beautiful line of place mats and tea towels and if I don’t stop, I’m going to have to change the shop’s name, to The Treasured Scarf!
Everyone loves” Gathering of Friends” cook books, so I’m bringing in two more in the series, with amother issue coming out, later this year!
Let’s not even talk about jewelry! Focus, Barbara!
Well, break time is over! Time to get back at it!
See you soon!
