Philadelphia’s Reading Terminal Market December 9, 2012

We’re on the shuttle, headed back to the airport. The Army – Navy Game was a close one, but Navy continued their 12 year winning streak.

I am still so proud, when I see those kids in their dress uniforms! But it’s a mixed emotion. I’m happy that they love their country as they do, yet think none of them deserve to die over a middle eastern conflict.

We saw very little of the city, but we had a wonderful pre birthday dinner with Betsy.

We went to one of those Brazilian steakhouses. Believe it or not, I just did the (terrific) salad bar. Trust me, that was more than I needed. Especially with dessert!

This morning, The food fest continued. Philadelphia has some good tunnel ways where you can cross the street without going outside. Good thing, since it was pretty brisk and wet outside this morning. We ended up at the Reading (train) Terminal Market, that covers a full block, next door to the Marriott Hotel.

Times of food options, from sandwiches to diner food, to crepes, you name it! Mr. Wonderful hunted our food choice of breakfast bagels.

While I was waiting, I spotted a clever photographer, who was no slave to commercialism.

He created his own home made tripod!

Well, dear friends, I am not looking forward to the flight home, but I am looking forward to being back home. I’m still trying to find a balance between home life and shop life. Will that day ever come?

Stay tuned, for more adventures! Will Bret kiss Samantha at the school dance? Find out here!

Hugs,
Barbara

Hi Laura, our heart’s in the right place, if we aren’t always so wonderful! If I had had the right partner at the time, I wish I could have had more kids. (Woulda- Coulda- Shoulda!)
      Hugs,
      Barbara

Or, will Barbara learn to love to fly? Those questions will only be answered in our next episode of “The Shopkeeper’s Adventures”. Sounds like you had a great time…now it’s time to go back to work…the adventure continues…….;)

You are so cute, Donnamae. Yes, I have a to-do list about a mile long, back at the shop, but I am so glad we went!
      Hugs,
      Barbara

Sounds like you had a wonderful time in PA. I lived about 30 miles west of Reading Terminal Market.

I am one of your newest followers!

We saw the end of that game while waiting to eat at The Longhorn restaurant. We were celebrating my son’s 19th birthday. It was hard to watch the other team lose after coming so close though. Looks like your trip to PA was fun. Lots of good food, for sure!

You’re so right Barbara – it’s heartbreaking to see them give their lives for anything, the conflict you mentioned included!

Barbara I’m so happy for you. It sounds like you had such a fun time. I stopped by your shop and it was closed. Darn. But I love your taste and I’m spreading the word around to all my friends. BTW-it’s a great location!
