It was time for “Monday Night Football”, last night, so I headed to the craft store. I found these really sweet mini grapevine wreaths for $2.99 each, at Joanne’s. Since I buy lavender in bulk, from a farm here in California, I had plenty of it on hand.
For me, lavender is one of the most wonderful scents on earth!
With my trusty glue gun fired up, I cut about three lavender stems down to just about a half inch below the flower and glued them into place.
Once finished, I Used some jute twine, to hang it from.
Onto some family stuff… For those of you who have lost parents, I’m sure you know what a task it can be to go through their treasures. It’s the kind of thing I could spend days, looking through. I have a footlocker full of memorabilia, including letters from my dad, during World War II and their early years together, that my mom saved. We all got a stack of letters, these glimpses into their life and I have not read mine yet. I’m not sure what I’m waiting for. Along with the letters, I found this school picture, from my dads eighth-grade class.
Unfortunately, we have photo albums, filled with beautiful pictures and we don’t know who the people are in the photographs. I would encourage you, if you have the opportunity, to go through these memories, with your parents. It would be time well spent, with your parents and a chance to save family history, well into the future.
Well, that’s about all I have to report on about today. I’m taking a break from painting, to focus on getting ready for my MMS Milk Paint order, arriving on Monday. 9 boxes, 145 pounds!! I need to make sure that I’m ready to ship paint out to all people who have ordered it!!
Enjoy this beautiful fall day!!
