About Barbara

I’m so happy you’ve stopped by! If you’re like me, you find true happiness making your home a place you love! I’ve been this way forever, no matter how much money or time I’ve had to spend.

I’m a mid-life (holding on to that term by the skin of my teeth!) mother of two out-of-the-house young adults, and a wife to my forever-love, living in a suburb of Sacramento, California.

Between searching for treasures, painting and repurposing old furniture, blogging and domestic duties, I opened my own work/shop, The Treasured Home, in the fall of 2012. I don’t call it a store because it’s much more. Not only does it showcase my furniture restoration projects, but it’s also a space where I work on my projects and show others how to paint their own furniture masterpieces, too, in an informal class setting.

I absolutely love interior design and have been re-arranging rooms since I was ten. Since 2006, I’ve had the opportunity to do what I adore. Starting with home staging, followed by in-home redesign work, antique dealing and furniture restoration, the creative juices continue to flow, fast and strong!
